The wild tiger lilies are blooming in the ditch.

They are so vibrant against the brown green of the grass.

I think I enjoy them as much for their bright colour as just for the fact that I don’t have to plant or weed them. They do just fine without any of the pampering I have to devote to my flower garden.

This owl has been serenading us with quiet hoots late in the evenings. I think it’s a great horned owl, but I haven’t ventured close enough to be sure.

Hail

Accumulated hail.

We returned home the other day to find some hail accumulated here and there. Fortunately it was fairly small and didn’t seem to damage anything.

This is just so typical of this year’s colder weather. I find myself looking forward to every day of sunshine. Even then, it doesn’t seem to be any guarantee of warmth.
