Ginger root is, of course, a root; more specifically a rhizome . We love ginger and I cook with it quite a bit. If you are familiar with ginger, you’ll know it comes in clumps of connected nodules. The last time I picked some up, it looked as if one nodule on the clump was so fresh, it was as if it had just grown out from the main clump.
I showed Tim and he said, “Hey, buy that one!” So we did.
After a few days of sitting on the counter, it was clear that it was sprouting. It took me a while to scrounge up an unused pot to plant it in. Actually it’s Tim who found a nice “made in China” one; which when you consider what I’m planting, is just perfect.
Over the years, I tried many plant experiments. Some have worked while others have not. So today I poked another thumb into the soil in the hopes that it would come up green.
